Review on 🐺 Wolfwhoop PW-D Control Buck Converter: Efficient 6-24V to 5V 1.5A Power Inverter Volt Stabilizer by Jeff Addison

These miniature 6-24VDC to 5VDC voltage converters (approx 1/4" x 3/4") work as advertised /expected. The seller answered questions within a day. You have to rely on the seller and the comments to ensure red leads are "positive" and black leads are "negative". The blocks are covered with black shrink tubing. There is no INPUT/EXIT mark. The seller and another comment confirmed that the big red connector is the INPUT side (intended for the battery) and the small JST style white connector is the OUTPUT. Important to know as I didn't use any connectors in my application. Without application info - I applied 12-18VAC to the input with a full wave bridge rectifier and a 220uF 50VDC electrolytic filter capacitor. This worked fine - I had no way of knowing what type of input filtering was included in the design - so adding a 220uF cap wouldn't hurt. The 4 star rating is due to one of the 4 components failing after around 10 minutes of operation due to a short circuit in the AC power supply (current limiting protection). My whole career in electronics - I understand child failures - the cost is so low - I didn't need all 4 at the time - shouldn't have asked for a replacement.
