Comes in a cute little box. I'll say my oven is lying, but only about when it's actually preheated. When my oven squeaked that it was at 375, in the picture it was only at 300. A few minutes later it was dead. I haven't used it in over a day so can't comment on durability. But I'm glad I bought it. I will be using this for bread baking and temperature control. I have to say it's a bit crazy sitting in front of an oven with nothing in it but a thermometer, but c'est la vie! It also showed me that I needed to clean my oven! Regardless, it was a good buy. A must for the hobby cook/baker.
