We have 2 cats. One was quite edgy and the other a little intimidating so out of some desperation I decided to try these collars out even though I was skeptical of their value. But judging by the few reviews I gave it a go. They arrived quickly and well packaged. They were packaged in individual jars individually wrapped in cellophane. When I opened them, I smelled them immediately. It didn't bother me and the cats didn't seem to mind either. Although my husband is very worried. Basically I told him to put up with it for a night just to see how they were doing. I put them on and it was no problem. They didn't care about the collars and didn't allow me any problem. It's just a soft silicone material and the ridges on one side help keep it in place, but it doesn't seem impossible for them to come out if they get caught on something. However, this seems to require a bit more strength/weight than a busted collar. The biggest problem I had with this collar was the fur on my cat's neck catching on the "buckle" and pulling out quite a bit of fur. When I removed the collar, large pieces of fur came out. Poor kitty. 😿 Both cats have short hair and my second cat didn't seem to have any problems, but her coat is smoother and closer to the body. He had problems, the fur is thicker and fluffier. It didn't seem to make much of a difference to her fear, although the other kitten had never attacked her that night. I'm not sure if it was due to the intended use of the collars or just fatigue and pain from the pile of fur being torn from her neck. The next morning, my husband also effectively banned the use of stink collars anywhere in the house. So, based on that experience, I'm only giving this purchase 2 stars.
