I love big sizes! Don't be stingy and buy a smaller size. It's long enough for an open folder and my 15 inch laptop. Bamboo upper is not too smooth. It doesn't slide like it did on my old lap table. - Pocket style. Very well made and easily adjustable backrest to increase the height of the kneeling table towards the back. Very useful for writing. I don't use it too often to hold my laptop although it's great as I mainly use it for writing, storing the books I read and as a table for eating in my chair. I also place it under a cross stitch stand to get it to the right height for embroidery. Slots do not fit into device holders or pens; they are completely superfluous and disturb the smooth writing surface. Devices placed in the slots are not high enough and at the wrong angle to be used. The manufacturer should exclude them. I don't need a rubber band yet as I don't usually have papers on my lap table. Recommend this lap desk, especially for those who like to write.
