Reliable and versatile

I like that I can program low/high voltage shutdown/resume to toggle. and return to standard inverter mode. Since I don't power the network, I don't have to worry about permissions or toast anyone in the event of a power outage. My system is very minimal, using only 2p4S lead-acid UPS batteries with a capacity of around 18Ah each. So at 48 VDC I get 32 Ah. However, when my 2000w inverter turns on each morning, it keeps the batteries charged while running two 6.5 amp and 7.1 amp fridges, some 2 amp timed pond pumps and a 2.5 amp A ceiling fan powered. Since these are surge currents, my inverter is really idling around 3A most of the time. So my power consumption has halved because these primary loads are running 24/7. This simple setup saves me about 2.5kW every day. In fact, I could put all the loads on a timer and not buy this phone system, but the fridges have to stay on all the time. Also, I plan on driving heavier loads in the future, like charging multiple EVs, and then I'll get some hefty lithium batteries. When I do that, those programmable voltage cutoffs come in handy. So I kept this ATS. But if you don't need this function together with 12V, 24V, 48V auto-detection, you will save 2/3 of the cost. Buy a cheaper reliable ATS instead and it should work too.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Good but not great
