Review on Rubbermaid Roughneck Mini Resin: Ultimate Weather-Resistant Deck Box for Outdoor Garden Storage by David Carmody

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Solid deck box. with correct assembly

I'm glad I didn't read the reviews before buying. I was desperate for something that would allow me to store things outside (garbage bags, gardening gloves, bug spray, etc) without buying an expensive, high quality deck box. That fits the bill. And I trust the Rubbermaid brand so I bought it without reading the reviews. I would buy it again. Pros: roomy for its size; protection from dogs; unremarkable (very dark brown color); continuous; doubles as a seat when not open. minuses? Montage was like playing Twister. If you put this thing together correctly, ie making sure every piece is latched (it's plastic so you have to press down hard on each panel) and want someone to help you or be able to hold multiple panels at once, then the box is rock solid and Relatively weather-resistant (did not yet have to be tested in heavy rain). If you want it to stay in place even when empty, fill the bottom with sand (there's a valve at the bottom for that). I see some reviewers struggling with the build and if you make a mistake with the build the deck box will tip over. The lid is very secure (it sticks a bit when opening, which I prefer to being too easy to open). So when the walls are unlocked, the lid pulls them out of the bottom plate. I would buy a few more of these to keep in the garden for hoses, dog toys and various items that I would rather not keep in the garage but still want to weatherproof the garden.
