Plays CDs. It plays radio stations. But the functionality leaves a lot to be desired. The main problem I have is that I can't save the radio station. I bought this device to be able to listen to NPR in the kitchen. I liked the ability to hang it on the wall so as not to take up countertop space. The good news is that it comes with a remote control and the bad news is that once wall mounted you might have trouble accessing the controls. That's why presetting a radio station annoys me; Every time I turn it on I have to scan the station AGAIN. And while I can do this with the handheld remote, I have to stand where I can see the display to stop at the station I want. The instructions say the stations can be preset but I can't get it to work.
