I have purchased two of these units and have been generally satisfied. However, I lost one of the cables (the ability to attach a cable is misleading - it easily detaches). I've since bought two different, highly rated USB connectors that fit, but my MacBook can only see one of the drives when using the original cable - so I can no longer connect both drives at the same time and see no way around this dilemma. Also, I worry if I lose the second cable all my data will become inaccessible. For that reason alone, I will never buy again or recommend. It also seems like a USB male to USB-C adapter should work, but it doesn't. When these questions come up in the community, Jimmy D answers them with simple answers that don't address the issue at all. I'm not sure what's so unique about the cables that come with it, but if you lose them you could also lose access to your data and the relatively expensive drive would become unusable.
