Great light set for photo or video

This is not my first Neewer product. I stumbled upon this company over a year ago while looking for cheap lighting and was impressed with the value for money of the product. I received one of their teleprompters a few months ago and it has greatly improved the quality of our video footage. This time I needed an extra set of video lights and the P200 caught my eye. The kit includes two light modules, two tripods, two mounting brackets, two power supplies and 4 batteries (2 for each lamp + 2 USB chargers) type NP-F550 but not Sony. Neewer apparently makes their own Sony-like batteries. Of course, so does the original NP-F550. Everything is neatly packed in a travel bag that can be used for carrying. In terms of configuration and performance, these flashlights offer the versatility and adjustability of most flashlights in this price range. There are 2 lighting modes, bi-color (white/amber) or RGB. Bicolor is the typical white (warm/yellow or cool/blue) light needed for standard photography or video. The temperature of the light can be adjusted between 3200K and 5600K depending on how warm or cool the light is. RGB is pretty self-explanatory. You can choose any color from the RGB palette and render it as a light. Of course, the intensity (or dimming if you prefer) is also adjustable. As well as manually adjusting the light and colour, the P200 comes with preset lighting presets/effects (e.g. if you want to use these as lighting effects at a party). All of this can be controlled via the buttons on the back, and you can see the settings on the small (but sharp and bright) LCD screen. This is where I want to highlight the grouping feature of these lights. If you've always wanted to tweak the configuration and settings of both lights at the same time without having to redo the same settings for the second light, Grouping is the way to go. You can group these two lights (essentially you set the same radio channel in both) and the settings will sync from one light to the other). Gentle, I know. In terms of versatility, the two tripods can be adjusted from very short to very high (I didn't measure exactly, too lazy). The angled neck of the mounting brackets and the free rotation of the light modules on the brackets allow for almost 360 degree angle adjustment. Ideal. The lanterns themselves come with barn doors if you need to limit the spread of light. The flashlight can be powered by either the included batteries (ideal for outdoor photography) or by plugging the included power adapters into an outlet. You can see the current battery level on the LCD screen, which is very convenient and useful. I've saved the feature that caught my eye the most for last. light control. Even if I already mentioned that everything can be controlled via the knobs and buttons on the back, there is another very convenient way: the smartphone app. The P200 has built-in Bluetooth, meaning you can control all aspects of your lighting via the Neewer app on your smartphone. All you have to do is add two lights to the application, which is very easy and I did it in 30 seconds. Two indicators appear on the main screen of the application. You choose one of them and adjust your preferred options depending on the desired result. You can even turn the light on or off from the app. Very, very handy, especially when you extend the tripods to full height and tilt the light down (with the LCD screen facing up). This is definitely different from other products. I am very happy with the Neewer P200. An excellent flashlight set for amateur or semi-professional use, very versatile, with good performance and value for money. Featured!
