I bought this rug hoping to reduce the amount of dirt, grime, dust and general debris that comes in from the backyard. After reading some of the reviews I knew it was likely to fall off a bit, at least initially, and judging by the type of rug I was expecting it anyway. So it's no wonder that I had to clean the fluff filter three times the first time I dried it because it was completely full. In any case, this doesn't take a hit at all for this rug, it was expected, and I think any similar rug or towel would have done the same. It held up well to the gentle cycle in the washing machine and took over an hour to dry on our dryer's low cycle. An unexpected surprise was what an instant hit this rug was with our pup. I hadn't even put it by the back door when it became clear that this was going to be one of her favorite spots to nap. LAUGH OUT LOUD. The mat feels much more absorbent than our previous mat and is definitely pet approved.
