I really like the look and design of this unit, but due to an annoying feature/bug I'm giving it 4 stars. The fan is actually silent, but neither it nor the light sleeps when the system sleeps, even if the system is completely turned off. Drives don't actually go to sleep during normal system hibernation, although they *do* when the Win 10 system is either manually hibernated or manually shut down, such as via the start menu. The only way to completely and silently turn this device off is with a rear derailleur, which is negligible but impractical on my bottom shelf and shouldn't be necessary. Their tech support was quick to answer my questions, although they confirmed that the fan/light needs to be turned off manually. fan/light. This is a two-pin jumper that is easily accessible from the right side. This fixed the fan noise and constant operation issue without affecting the drives at all. I was hoping that the capacity of this case would be sufficient for convection and the drives would either sleep or stay powered on with no impact or shock. But after testing the temperature of the hard drive with and without the fan connected, it turned out that a somewhat annoying fan and light are necessary for cooling. The problem is not solved. However, after opening the case lid, some hot-swap drives and randomly turning it on and off, the quality of this setup is undeniable and its flaws are negligible. 4 out of 5
