I make quilts, sometimes called quilts. Imagine a large tissue-sized piece of fabric with items on it: a zipper to open and close, a button to open and close a button, a fabric pocket with Velcro that can be opened, and the keys on the ribbon REMOVED; a strip of 'fur' that can be ironed/ironed to evoke memories of Fido or Fluffy, a necklace of large colorful acrylic beads to 'care' and something that can be laced - like you lace up your sneakers. I make these blankets for residents at our local nursing facility. I made bows out of ribbons which takes too long. Then I found a kit that allowed me to hammer in the bushings. Obviously I'm not strong enough to do the job. Then I saw a video online recommending that if I do "fabrication work," which I do, I should get one of those bushed hand presses. Currently I'm using 1/2" sockets. I take a small metal circle and place it where I want to make a hole. I take a ballpoint pen and draw a line inside the circle. This is the size I want for my hole Sharp scissors make holes, I pin a larger piece with a "neck" - or as it is called - put it on the machine, put the right side of the fabric on the "neck", put one small metal circle at the top and bottom of the handle. even having to get up and strain. Fixing one grommet - labor less than a minute. And if I put 6-8 grommets in a thick blanket, the time adds up. Since I have all Β½" sockets I'll start using 3/8" bushings. The laces I use also fit this size. My only complaint is that this company doesn't sell replacement parts for its bushings. For a while. I asked which ones use other sleeve with this QWORK hand press could be ended and I was told all would work. Well I tried using the 1/2" bushings from the original kit I bought and the press didn't get them to work. I think it's because the bushings can be stainless steel and stronger metal, or it's me. I'll try again when I run out of 3/8" sockets. The fact is that if I want to buy grommets in bulk, they usually sell the tool too - buy this tool and get a bunch of grommets! All I want is more grommets! I already have this tool and it makes my job easier. It's worth every penny. I don't need another.
