Let them air out first
They're in a plastic bag so I think the lack of air is giving them that smell. If you leave them for a day or two, the smell will dissipate and go away. We got this to make our Thanksgiving Central for our table. Even if it's just a family, we're not going to decorate and celebrate our dinner for good reasons. They're white and look great, but you can dye them if you'd like, which is pretty too.
