This is a first review as I've only had the case for 4 days. I just wanted to give my first impression so I can compare how things are going after 6 months. I type a lot in my job (legal clerk) and I just can't get used to working virtually on a regular basis. I need a keyboard case for my iPad Pro 10.5 that I use all the time when I'm not working. Here's what I was looking for while shopping: 1) I wanted a keyboard no smaller than my iPad, with full-size US Qwerty keys (some of them were an inch shorter than my iPad and had an arrow key to above and a cumbersome shift key). spots that made typing difficult) 2) I wanted beveled sides or built in rubber lip protectors so my iPad's screen doesn't make direct contact with the keys when the case is closed. (I have a Zagg InvisibleShield Glass+ that cracked using my old Fintie keyboard case. While Finties are a great case, they don't have bevels or screen protectors.) This Mangotek case requires special care. when closed, as the bottom half of the iPad wiggles freely after detaching from the magnet/smart socket, but with careful handling the case closes with no problems. 3) I wanted the keys to be the same as on a regular office keyboard. as much as possible. (These keys are like laptops, so the travel is shorter, but it's not hard to get used to since the keys are full-size.) 4) I wanted a keyboard that I could easily hold on my lap. This keyboard has a smart socket on the side and a strong magnet that keeps the iPad in place when it's on a desk and works well when you're holding it on your lap. It only has one angle you can stand it at, but that angle is comfortable enough for typing and watching movies. I don't need the 90,000 viewing angles that other cases offer. With all of this, I was limited in my choice of cases as there are very few available for the iPad Pro 10.5 (model A1701). If I wanted the latest and greatest case, I'd have to go out and buy a newer (and bigger) iPad. No it won't, at least not for a while. Here's what I found: The Zagg Slimbook didn't even make it through the starting gate with me. I've used these folios with my old iPads and they ALWAYS broke at the hinges within 6-9 months of constant use. I read many reviews about Slimbook and what did I see? Broken hinges. Been there, done, don't do it again. The Logitech was my second choice, but I couldn't bring myself to try it because of the emphasis on the back of the case - I didn't think it would be very stable when held on my lap. (But it's still a contender if Mangotek dives in.) That left Brydge and all other brands with Revain. Didn't want to mortgage my house to buy Brydge and her required iPad back (because nothing else seems to work/fit when using her case, so you'll have to buy one of them - nice racket, huh?) All Brands I've seen have had one or more of these problems: 1) buttons or keyboards were too small or had buttons in odd places; 2) There were reviews where people said they had bluetooth connection issues or broken keys/loop; and 3) no bevels/rubber stops to prevent touching the screen. I was also a little wary of some of the creative ways of connecting the iPad body part to the keyboard part - some of which didn't look very solid and would likely break after a few weeks of heavy use. the case that remained - this means that I bought it by the exclusion method. Four days later it works perfectly. I'm not saying that dropping my iPad will protect it from permanent damage. I don't think it can. But I didn't buy it for protection, I bought it for functionality. So as long as I'm careful not to drop my iPad off 20-story buildings and toss it in my car while rushing to work each day, this case should do everything I wanted it to do. I'm hoping for a good 18 months to 2 years of use (at least) for the $75 I paid. I will review and update this review in 6 months.
