I bought this device to better monitor my wife and 16 year old daughter while driving. We live in an area where cell phone reception is pretty bad and the road leading to the main road is very bad. There are narrow streets and VERY sharp turns, something straight out of a horror movie. If one of them broke down and couldn't get service, I wanted to know where to find them. I chose this device and of course it works great. It does not lose track of the car. I can track exactly where they are and how fast they are moving. If for some reason the vehicle stops and I don't get a call, I know something is wrong and I can respond myself or call the Highway Patrol. It's really calming. The device tells me when the engine is running, where the car is, how fast it is going, etc. I haven't received any warnings about hard braking or hard acceleration yet. I also didn't get a chance to test the OBD portion of the unit because I don't have a check engine light and I'm in no hurry to get one. So far the only problem is that I can't figure out how to set geofencing alerts. I want to set up geofencing so I know when/if my daughter leaves the planned area, but the app and my PC don't have that option. In general, the device works as I had hoped. It's worth a good $23 a month.
