Batteries failed :(

Edited: Downgraded. Why? Because the batteries failed within 3 months. Bought in July. Tested and everything worked fine. In September when I came Dorian, I tried charging the batteries with the crank. No luck. They either won't charge or won't hold a charge. I had to put AA batteries in for it to work. The purpose of this purchase was to have a radio that could be manually started so i can use it when there is no electricity and dont use stacks of batteries can be charged without electricity this one does i can run it manually to charge the lights works as advertised i was able to local NOAA weather channel find and the NOAA weather alert function works (see below) and the radio works AC as I like giving alarms 24 hours a day what means it must remain connected to the mains. We were able to find one that worked. in our wall wart cavity so I didn't have to pay extra. I'm a bit concerned about a tidbit in the manual that says you shouldn't leave it on or you risk overcharging your battery. It's useless to me to let it sit dead unless I charge it daily. So I connected it. My only big problem is the weather warnings. The warning tone is very loud, but the radio voice is quite low. I can live with it. But it doesn't turn off after a warning! It plays the alert information and then immediately begins broadcasting the main NOAA weather forecast for the area. I have to turn the knob to OFF and then back to NOAA Alert to silence it.
