I bought these for my husband to use when stacking firewood in our pit or fireplace. He would always grab the logs with his bare hands and move them around while the fire was burning and the logs needed to be added. After a few "almost" burns I ordered these gloves. He now wears them and can move hot logs (by grabbing the end outside the flame, of course, not the part that's actually burning), which is enough to protect his hands from the heat of the fire. Great value for money and so far they've held up and performed just as well as the more expensive ones we've tried. In fact, he prefers them to expensive grill sets because they're thin and don't limit his dexterity. You can tell where it shines) and they work great. I can still pick up lightbulbs and manipulate the lightbulb part without burning my fingertips. Size wise - my husband has small hands and I have skinny hands but long fingers and a size 7 fits both of us.
