Interesting little multipurpose vacuum cleaner. The hose is a smaller diameter than I expected, it's the size of a normal household vacuum, not the larger diameter stock hoses I'm used to. Has a lot of suction power and the speed control works well. Activation of the tool is fairly limited, as others have pointed out, as only 15 amps can be drawn from a regular outlet and some of that has to be used to run the vacuum, leaving very little for the tool itself to do the work. I found the vacuum draws 10 amps at full power and 6 at full power. So you can plug a 5-9 amp tool into the vacuum outlet depending on how fast you use the vacuum. In my opinion, it would be better to attach a pigtail to the vacuum cleaner, to which a separate extension cord could be connected. Thus, a vacuum cleaner could be plugged into one outlet and a power tool could be plugged into another outlet while still controlling the vacuum cleaner. The other problem this solves is the power cord, which is very heavy duty (and quite short) as it has to handle the full 15 amps, not just the 10 amps drawn from the vacuum. If they had used a separate cord to power the tool, the vacuum's power cord could have been a more convenient size. In any case. This is a good vacuum for very dirty home cleaning and moderately dirty shop jobs. It's not a real construction site vacuum like the Rigid, but it doesn't have to be either. It's more civilized. It has a really cool, tight, sophisticated sound and is a little quieter than other vacuums I've used. At first I thought the 5 wheel models were useless, but the extra wheel seems to make it more stable when you pull the hose for the cleaner to follow you. I really like that the large handle stays on the bucket when the motor is removed, making it easy to carry the bucket while emptying. The self-cleaning filter feature works well enough to blow large, solid clumps of cat hair off the filter and into the bucket. Overall, this is a decent vacuum that's great for rough house cleaning and can also handle the dirtier jobs when needed. Bags are also cool because they're made out of fabric, not paper. I end up wanting to do what others have done and install zip ties in them so they can be easily reused. They cost about $4 per pack (they are sold in packs of 4). All in all, this is a good vacuum if you understand the limitations of the tool activation feature. And you can't suck up big messes because of the small size of the hose. This is a niche product, but in my opinion it fills its niche very well.
