My wife and I have been looking for a product like this for a long time. She had one when she was younger and remembered how good it made grilled cheese sandwiches. Once we started using it it was great! It was very good at toasting bread and melting cheese, but there was a small problem. Even for ordinary slices of bread, this model seems too small. You can still stuff them in, but if you use them to melt cheese, the cheese will ALWAYS drip down the sides, and worse, sometimes it will drip out the back. When this happens it tends to get stuck. in the hinges that allow the unit to open and close, and getting the cheese out of those tight, hard-to-reach spots is a big challenge. Maybe it's user error, but for a product meant to cook things like grilled cheese sandwiches, I was hoping it would be easier to clean the whole thing. However, all copper surfaces are VERY easy to maintain, only the plastic on the outside can be a real problem.
