After researching flux options online I was about to purchase a syringe type flux that is said to make surface mount rework easier. However, after carefully watching a significant number of YOU TUBE videos on soldering techniques, I came across one in which the technician used a good old tried and true rosin paste flux and simply applied it with a metal tool. After seeing a technician easily apply a controlled small amount of pasty flux with a pick and seeing the same quality of finished solder joints, I decided that tried and true is actually better than new. While some syringe products seem to form a pre-bond that holds the small SMT components in place, I prefer to tin the gasket and secure the component, especially when syringe fluxes have an expiration date, but proven and genuine ones don't . I highly recommend trying rosin paste flux for any electronic soldering job. The order came quickly via US mail. (3 days) Very happy with this purchase
