So we bought this product because we fry and grill a lot! It could read temperatures in degrees Fahrenheit or Celsius. I LOVE that it's waterproof and has LED light. Two other things I like are that it turns on automatically when we open the probe and turns off when we close it. We tried it in ice water last night and it reads great! see attached photos. As you can see from the photos, it also comes with a meat temperature sheet and other temperature readings for various foods. Very compact to carry, it also folds up and fits snugly in the box. As long as it's worth the price
