Review on πŸ§” Ultimate Grooming Companion: Philips Norelco Multigroom BG2039/42 - Beard, Stubble, and Body Trimmer by Tommy Bagg

Revainrating 3 out of 5

This trimmer from Norelco is GREAT. battery, not so much!

This is Norelco's fourth trimmer for my partner. Design/functionality has steadily improved over the years, but the battery isn't that good. After only a few months, if charged overnight, it lasts through the entire trim, but ends up being gone (with the low-power indicator flashing). This is frustrating as the batteries are not replaceable. The trimmer is well made, but the battery is a bad joke. Body design doesn't seem to be Norelco's forte either, they have a track record of poorly fitting bodies for their trimmers. Suitcase for body groomer BG2039/42 is too big, two narrow and uncomfortable pockets for accessories. Has anyone tried to stuff everything in the suitcase? The trimmer blades cut through thin mesh pockets, everything sticks out. Terrible design. Finally, unlike previous trimmers, the cord/charger does not plug directly into the trimmer, but into a poorly designed charging dock that connects to two metal pins. on both sides of the trimmer. The trimmer often slips out of the charger. Overall it has a lot of potential, but it's poorly thought out/executed. It should have been planned more carefully.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and chunky
