It's so hard to find harnesses that fit the length of a Bichon's body but don't wind up landing too high on their necks; like those super cute ones the go over the head. These are very effective for both walking and securing them in the car.I use dog seat belt attachments for mine so I'm very sensitive to ensuring the harness will not put too much pressure on any point or worse, cause them to flip and then get choked, or crushing their ribs. These fit around the bottom of the chest plus their rip cage, so there is even pressure if we have to slam the brakes, and they're lower body doesn't flip under them. Bonus, they seem really comfortable to the dogs!They may not be as "cute" as the others out there, but make me feel far more secure about their safety in the car. I just use cute collars, leashes, and clothes if I want to cute them up! You do have to be mindful when buying jackets/coats with leash holes, because the hole needs to be lower on the back than others. I often just cut my own custom hole.if the material is good quality I don't even have to sew the edges to avoid fraying!
