Review on Creality Max Carborundum πŸ–¨οΈ Mainboard with 300x300x340mm Print Size by Andrew Agarwal

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Broke after 40 hours of use, otherwise everything is fine.

The thermostat wire in the print head broke after 40 hours of operation. After contacting Revain support they offered to send me another printer. Decided it's better to repair than replace. So I bought a replacement head for $15 and did the work myself. The exchange took about 5 hours. The head I ordered was not made for the MAX printer and the cables were about a foot shorter. I had to lengthen them with the old ones. After the replacement I improved the head strain relief to reduce the risk of reoccurrence by designing a strain relief plate that attaches to the deck. It works perfectly now and hasn't broken since. It attaches without screws or glue, yet snaps into place and stays in place. Otherwise, the print quality and usability are excellent. I haven't pushed my print volume to the limit, but I've printed 3 consecutive days non-stop. Except of course as described above.

Pros
  • Meanwell Power Supply: The Ender 3 Max comes with a UL-certified power supply that provides consistent power output, minimizes temperature fluctuations, and protects the printer from unexpected power surges. It can heat a hot bed up to 110Β°C in about 10 minutes.
Cons
