Time Saver - Kitchen Utensils and Gadgets

Only used once, will update my review if needed with more use. Everything was unpacked as expected. The suction doesn't last the first time, I tried again and it lasts the rest of the time. Grated a block of sharp cheddar and broke it into chunks fit for an escape without even having to get the knife dirty. However, because the cheese was so fresh and moist (despite being cold), it immediately got stuck in the grater cylinder and jammed instead of shooting into the bowl. It was painful to dig up all the cheese BUT. Partly my fault, I should have stopped and cleaned earlier. Also, the block broke VERY quickly. Then all parts can be removed much easier than expected. The hot water washed away whatever was left on the cheese, and a quick wash with a soapy sponge quickly got it perfectly clean. Easy assembly/disassembly. I think it can be (at least partially) washed in the dishwasher, but I'll hand wash it as it's so easy I don't want to break the integrity by exposing it to such high heat. Overall I'm satisfied with this item, although it gave me a little trouble, I'm sure I'll do better next time. You no longer have to be afraid of the work and cleaning usually associated with grating cheese - with this gadget it's a breeze! It definitely pays off to have a nice, smooth, freshly grated cheese that melts and tastes better than any packaged cheese with anti-caking additive. Two thumbs up UP.UPDATE: I've used this many times, it works great. Just make sure to clean out the keg after each piece is shredded, as the soft cheese will clog everything up if you don't. Also, make sure your surface AND the rubber ring on the bottom of the grater are clean of debris for a secure grip. I can cut a 16 ounce block into 3 parts and grind them in about 90 seconds.
