To date, none of my electronic devices has fallen or the screen has cracked. However, I used a screen protector from the start. However, my wife dropped her iPad Mini. The protective film is torn but the screen remains intact. I prefer tempered glass lids for their uncompromising visibility, ease of use, and easy cleaning. amFilm Glass Screen Protector comes in a sturdy package with everything you need for a good application. The instructions recommended running hot water in the sink to reduce the amount of dust in the air. They should also have recommended wearing a hair net. I cleaned the screen, used a stain remover sticker, poured hot water in and applied the screen protector only to find that two hairs had fallen onto the screen during the application. Luckily both were on the edge of the screen. I was able to lift the edge of the protective film and remove the hair. Subsequent use was flawless. I prefer the "hinge method" where the screen protector attaches over the retaining tabs at each end of the screen protector. I get a more precisely adjusted running surface using the hinge method. The box contained two screen protectors; I have to be good for a while.
