Don't be fooled into thinking a 1 1/16 inch deep socket will remove the oil pressure sensor. They just round the corners. On a 2004 gmc 5.3 all you need is a special deep oil nut and a 3/8 ratchet. Reach behind the back of the motor and pull the connector latch off the tab and up and out of the switch. Insert the nut and then slide the short 3/8" ratchet onto the nut. You will simply position the knob so that you can turn the switch off a turn or two in small movements until you can turn it by hand It takes no more than 5 minutes in total
