I have two Samsung Galaxy S9 phones, each of which comes with an original Samsung OTG adapter. Neither adapter worked on a phone. When connecting a flash drive to both phones with both adapters, the drive was not recognized. I have a couple of these adapters and both work fine. I just got them so I can't say how long they will last or how reliable they will be over time, but the fact that they were recognized on every phone on the first try put an end to my frustration with Samsung Adapters that came with two new phones. Samsung adapters fit very poorly into every phone's USB-C port and have never worked with multiple attempts. It's surprising why brand new Samsung adapters that come with new phones don't work, but with these new adapters that fit snugly and work great, it doesn't matter.
