Review on Coleman Cable 09019 W-Splitter: Efficient 1-to-3 Outlet Extending Adapter - 2-Foot by Michael Weaver

I have this. The monster as well as the yellow jacket glowed 2 feet with the lighted power supply. Both models are of the same quality, which is not surprising since the Yellow Jacket is made by Coleman. I also have a couple of Coleman jumper cables from my used car days and they are amazing quality too. But back to that W splitter - if you've never used a Coleman cable product before, you probably think it can't cost that much. , but when you hold it in your hand, it weighs like a brick. My Coleman jumper cable was actually so heavy I didn't even keep it in the car because it made the car heavier - no kidding! I ended up buying a second, lighter patch cord, also from Coleman, to keep in the car instead. The quality of Coleman is simply top. In any case, this W splitter is better than the yellow jacket. Not in terms of quality - as I said, both are qualitatively identical, i.e. excellent. Simply better because it is more flexible - in the truest sense of the word. So it relieves your forks if you accidentally step on them, for example. If you have multiple right-angle plugs and multiple straight plugs, and they're all plugged into an inflexible power supply like the Yellow Jacket, and then you accidentally step on them, it creates tremendous torque on the plugs, causing them to bend. On the other hand, with the Coleman W-Splitter it doesn't matter if some of the forks are right-angled and others straight, as each fork articulates separately - it can still lie flat on the ground without any protruding objects on it to step on and break can. Having the sockets separate allows them to dissipate contact heat more efficiently, reducing the risk of the contacts permanently welding together or simply burning out (although this usually only happens with poor quality cables, I doubt this is a real possibility with yellow jacket, but still). Finally, the handles are very ergonomic - an absolute pleasure to plug and unplug everything - it's very easy to get a really secure grip on these connectors. However, the Yellow Jacket is illuminated and costs almost half as much. So really, both are great. But I like this one better.
