I am a professional hired seamstress who does most of her work on industrial machinery. I work with heavyweight yarn, cordura and #10 zip for outdoor wear (backpacks, coats, etc.). My decision to purchase this machine for my home shop was not based on price or the impossibility of getting an industrial machine, but on the decision that I didn't want to make room for a full industrial table anymore. So far I am very satisfied and impressed with this little machine. Only four stars because I want to see how it holds up over time. I was a religious fan of vintage metal machines so I had a hard time doing this rebuild but I'm so glad I did! This machine seamlessly sews multiple heavy layers and seam tapes, as well as through- and backstitches through the zipper. No bent needles! I would recommend to anyone wanting to sew heavy projects. I'm not keen on the spool and thread design, but not nearly as fickle as my vintage machine collection. I also like how light and portable it is. No wobble from the engine.
