I haven't seen many reviews where users have used the "eyelets". The optional hub mount is actually included and has worked really well for me. My desk didn't have a large lip around the back of the desk to use the C-clamp, so I stuck the grommet mount through the cable access hole. The grommet mount basically replaces the "C-clamp" with a long threaded bolt, a rectangular base plate, and a large, star-shaped finger-tightening knob that makes it easy to reach and tighten the table with one hand. The device is very solid with this type of mount, although I had very little space on the underside of my desk around the base of the hub (see photo). Having adjusted the mounts to my monitors using the included hex key, I can now easily position my monitors the way I want. I highly recommend this product.
