Quality tools made in the USA I have a torx internal set that I am very happy with so I wanted to get this set as a companion I have a couple of singles that I have bought before that have held up well with no fasteners to remove or round off bits. My set had two heads that had bits of dross from the grinding process inside the 3/8" drive end, but they were easy to remove with a small screwdriver. I didn't refuse as they were very easy to remove were and left no trace of their presence.I find it odd that they went through any sort of quality control as they were obviously obvious and in the state that they were supplied could not be used because the slag pieces were so large that they prevented the extension from being fully seated. to the drive end where a ball detent could hold it in place. These were not defects in the sockets themselves, but an oversight during cleaning. The bushings are hardened and machined like percussion instruments, i.e. not chrome-plated. They arrived with a light coating of oil to protect against corrosion, so expect that when you open the packaging. This is normal with such instruments and is not considered a defect. The vinyl holder feels sturdy and securely holds the outlets in place. It would be great if Lyle could add a phosphate coating or something to protect against corrosion so you don't have to oil them to prevent rusting. I noticed that I had a light film of rust between uses, but it was very easy to remove with WD-40. I just wish I had to do this that often! Overall I'm happy with this set and would buy again if needed, but don't think I'll need it as it seems to hold up well with reasonable use. I take extra care to ensure the socket bits are fully inserted into the fastener while holding the ratchet or breaker as close to 90 degrees as possible to prevent the bit or fastener from becoming loose or breaking. I think this set will last a long time with moderate use.
