Is pure copper better than alloy? Need more thin strands to get the high frequencies right? Does a better wire improve the sound of your speakers? I do not know. You probably won't know either. With the right instruments and an anechoic chamber, you could probably measure the difference. I bought this to make sure I had enough room for the upgraded surround speakers (Polk) that I bought. I know the meter helps with the clean power aspects and the strand count helps at higher frequencies as they run across the surface of the wire. I feel that both meet my needs and will buy side speakers again if I use them. I was asked to review a dimension called "Stretch". Yes it isn't and my cable tensioner will be fixed.
