Does exactly what it should.

First of all if you are looking for something to convert UK voltage (220/240V) to 120V this product is not for you. Whether you just need such a power supply or a real voltage converter, you can tell by the electrical specifications of what you want to connect. If the range is at least 240v then this is what you need. If only 120V is listed then you need a converter or you'll quickly have a new paperweight in another country. I bought it for several reasons. 1. Because I knew that was all I needed for what I brought. 2. Because it's properly grounded. Some of these products have a plastic base, which strikes me as a great way to risk the safety of an expensive personal item. 3. Because it had an extra ungrounded outlet at the top, although I haven't used it yet. By the way, I wouldn't recommend buying an ungrounded (2-prong) to grounded (3-prong) adapter to use an extra outlet on this product unless you can properly ground the adapter. Also, this product is not designed to provide two ground connections. Another advantage is that it is a compact product. Several people I know have bought different models either in the UK or online and they are a lot wider. They're not big enough to be a problem, but this one is still pretty small. Generally he does what he has to do and that's all I expect from him. This allowed me to leave my laptop on for a week without any issues with the AC adapter overheating or strange smells. The world of adapters and converters can be confusing. So if your products can handle at least 240V they should work fine barring a manufacturing defect.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Definitely bad product
