The magnet will hold both removed and new plugs better than the rubber grommet.
Required for deep plug removal and new plug installation. All three connector manufacturers do not recommend lubricants. On the Ford Triton yes, as they are difficult to remove. The magnet should hold the Triton connectors well after you apply NICKEL Anti-Seize CRC to the connector tip. Any other non-extended range plugs should probably not be anti-seized as this could cause the plug to unscrew itself and prevent the plug from being grounded. The distributor acts as a plus (+) and the cylinder head acts as a ground. (-)
