Received it yesterday and tried it out at the gym last night. My S3 fits easily into my Otterbox Commuter case, but I'm fine with that because it's easy to take out. Doesn't hang like a phone, it doesn't shake my phone or anything - it's just not very snug - but then again I like it so it's easy to pull my phone back out. The Defender case would probably fit perfectly. The front plastic is a little loose due to the loose fit, but I was still able to easily access all the features. I wish it had cutouts for the volume buttons and headphone jack, but I can get around that. It's made to hold different phones, and not all phones have the headphone jack and volume buttons in the same place, so I can see why there aren't cutouts. I ended up not using the cord holder - I tried but it seems I had too much cord and it just came off. So I threaded the cord through the sleeve of the t-shirt as usual. Overall I'm very happy with it - I like having my phone with me because I can get free music for my phone through various apps, but I couldn't do that with my old iPod. One final note, the velcro strap isn't big enough for my shoulder, but I still like to wear it on my forearm for better reach of my phone. So if you are a tall person or overweight you can get an extension unless you can wear it on your forearm like me.
