1st I've had my Big Green Egg for about 10 years now. in that time I have broken 2 of the Ceramic heat deflectors, after awhile I guess from the heat they get very brittle, the first one I broke, maybe it did hit a little hard. the second I even bought a special tool to lift it, and with a very light hit it also broke. So I'm hoping this new Cast Iron unit last a while!. Plus I love the idea that it can double as a Grill!. Jsu arrived yesterday. maybe tomorrow I'll Q up a chicken in the Heat defector mode, which works fantastic!. Always the BEST Smoked Chicken Ever!. I'm 69 years old, I've had grills forever and the big Green Egg is by far my favorite
