I actually buy this to improve my soil to be more breathable for the roots, absorb moisture, water less, cause less root rot and it's all natural and great quality for the price. And acid-loving plants like it also run in tree trunks, since it is wood, and release tannins when they decompose. This is generally good for plants as lower pH means better nutrient uptake (add calcium if possible, look for chicken groats). But I use it for all my indoor and outdoor plants, especially those that like loamy soil. . Works for multiple purposes.
