Verbatim is currently the only brand I trust for 2-level archiving. They have a strong commitment to technology, particularly the stability of the emulsion on the surface of the disc. I remember trusting my generic data almost two decades ago. I checked the data after writing it and everything seemed fine. Then a few days later, DISK ERROR, TOC UNREADABLE. Thank god he screwed it up with just that one disc. So don't trust generic drugs. Well-known brands are also suspicious, above all HP, Kodak and Memorex. It was actually the Memorex engineer who told me about the dye emulsion stability and double layer functionality aspect. He highly recommended VERBATIM. These forms cost over a dollar each, but isn't your data worth it?
