I love this set! My husband and I are both crazy about them. I read the review, asked a question (got a great answer) and ordered. I'm so glad I did. Here's what you need to know: You need 8 AAA batteries. They are made of acrylic (transparent part). The black part needs to be wiped after use as fingerprints will remain on it. The pepper mill gets stuck every now and then, but all you have to do is turn it right side up and back down. The salt shaker tends to stay up a little. Although there are a few design flaws, I love this. The little shopping cart is great too. I definitely recommend them. Manufacturer: If you made the transparent part from glass and the top from metal, you would be more environmentally friendly. And maybe include a small brush to remove residue after use?
