This corkscrew has a rosewood handle, is beautifully finished and has the appearance of a tank. Well, it's actually better built than a tank, especially when you picture a WW2 German tank. It feels great and works flawlessly once the screw is in the plug. Therein lies the problem. I'm no mechanical engineer so can't tell exactly where they went wrong, but it takes a bit of dexterity to turn a screw. This requires the tip of the screw to be at the right angle and a little extra downward force to work and center in the cork. Maybe it's the shape of the thread on the screw tip, or maybe the screw tip could be a bit sharper? I'm not entirely sure, but it could be a little better. All in all a pretty good corkscrew that I still use all the time. just with a little nostalgia for what could have been. Like the little girl who lived next door when I was a kid. Sigh.
