Bought for someone else who is having trouble getting good quality rice out of their desktop rice cooker. I've had several similar cases as a kid and now throughout my life and I think this would be an easy and reliable option. It works as expected. I haven't had any issues with any melt marks or weird burn marks even in the tiny microwave because the size is almost too big. I actually bought it mainly just for cooking rice but it comes with so many accessories which is really cool. The person I bought it for didn't have measuring cups or spoons either so it was great for the price including measuring utensils, steamer and tray. For plain rice, my recipes have always been 2 cups of long grain rice, three cups of water. , a tablespoon of oil, a teaspoon of salt. Wash and drain the rice at least three times. After final rinse, add 3 cups cold water, oil and salt, stir, cover and microwave for 20 minutes. Once it's done you can leave it in the microwave for a few more minutes or take it out and place it on the counter and let it rest for 5 minutes then whip it up. Perfect rice every time. At least that's what my mother showed me a long time ago, and I've always loved it. Stores easily in a container in the fridge to warm up with a splash of water. for reheating rice, although I definitely recommend taking just the portion you want and reheating it rather than reheating the entire container multiple times.
