My parents have a tropical style table in a modern black and white kitchen. The previous pillows were completely torn and something needed to be done. They were SO EASY to put on, I had to unscrew the wood part of the seat and just put them on, they are very stretchy and have clips to keep them in place. The lids actually made the table blend in with the rest of the kitchen decor quite nicely. They're pretty thin so I don't expect them to take a lot of wear and tear, but with careful use they should be fine. I would assume they are machine washable on a cold gentle cycle but I didn't bother to read the label.
