I needed to resize the pipe to pan around my reef tank and needed a ball valve to adjust or stop the flow. Due to the delicate nature of the aquarium I must have plastic valves and there seemed to be no stores in town that had plastic ball valves. I liked that I could get two packs as I could keep a spare or use it for something else. I hooked it up to a 1400 GPH drain pump so it can handle high pressure without leaking. It's also easy to set up, by simply turning the knob I can partially or fully close it to stop the water flow. It works great for what I need.
