I don't have an apple tree in my garden and this year I decided to make apple pies, but the apples were too small to peel by hand. This handy little device is a true marvel! I've gone crazy and made three or four cakes already! It may sound normal to you, but I'm a guy who doesn't really cook or bake, so this was a real adventure for me. In any case, this device works very well, it peels apples of all sizes, even irregular shapes, cuts them in a spiral and removes the core in just a few turns of the hand. It looks a little basic, but there's a lot going on, and there are a few settings that don't get detailed descriptions. One of them is a small lever that allows you to return the teeth to their original position without rotating them. The other part is the spring loaded part that allows you to pull the cutter back until you get the correct apple position. There is another setting related to the cutting blade that I don't understand yet. All in all I love it. In fact I bought another one to give to my neighbors who have the same tree as me... I would say if you have an apple tree don't think twice you will love your tree again with this thing. I look forward to using it on store bought apples as I know my tree is barren. I might even try it for potatoes, we'll look at that option!
