This works very well but has limitations. It's a 10-port hub, but I couldn't get all 10 ports to work at the same time. Eight work occasionally and only seven constantly. And it's not that specific ports are bad, it's just that the device itself can only handle so much load. It gets finicky when turning on the computer (Windows 10 PC) and about 50% of the time I have to unplug all the USB cables from the hub and then plug them back in one at a time and wait for the system to recognize the USB device as being plugged in. I've tested this on a tower PC and two different laptops (HP and Toshiba) and it doesn't recognize all USB devices when powered on. For computer scientists, yes - the BIOS and all drivers are up to date. Only one of the USB devices (LG's DVD burner) draws significant power from the hub, and only in actual use, which is rare. The remaining devices are a keyboard, mouse, webcam, headset, second monitor with plug-in adapter, smart card reader, and a self-powered 2TB external drive. USB devices that need to be plugged in, the limitations and inconvenience of having to unplug devices from time to time for them to work properly detracts from this great product.
