The manufacturer does not offer any software that is tailored exclusively to this model, which is one of the product's disadvantages. Yet, all apps are accessible for Passport models that fall within the same price range. Setting the drive off timer through WD Utilities was required in order to get the drive to sit idle for the appropriate amount of time. The tool does not recognize the disk, and it is not included on the list of drives that can be read by the utility.
