I've been using handkerchiefs instead of handkerchiefs for many years, but on a trip to the Philippines I'm addicted to handkerchiefs with beautiful Armando Caruso designs - great color combinations, very elegant and not as boring as them plain white handkerchiefs we all grew up with. The lack of decent handkerchiefs in America is perhaps a social indicator I don't want to comment on, but I've found that people sniff and cough tiresomely on the train without covering their mouths and with cool, if not elegant, colorful handkerchiefs it may take a long way to convince Americans to take their hygiene to the next level. These handkerchiefs are not. They are very thin - in fact I think the packaging is deceiving as the tissues are wrapped around a piece of paper which enhances their appearance. Okay, these handkerchiefs work - you can blow your nose in them, they're just not as pretty as the Armando Caruso handkerchiefs you can buy in the Philippines for a dollar.
