So I was hesitant to buy this after so many conflicting reviews but I was desperate so I did. I'm glad I took the risk because I love this bag (and I've come back to buy more)! No, it's not a hard, hard box. But I appreciate that fact because it's flexible to fit different shoe sizes/types. I had a little trouble building it due to the sorely lacking instructions; But thanks to another review, I found out that the velcro sections come apart to allow you to better snap the bottom support plates together. Once assembled and filled with shoes, it's actually quite durable and slides in and out from under my bed very easily. Remember that this product should be folded and stored away when not in use; therefore it does not have to be completely rigid. If that's what you're looking for, look for under-bed bins from companies like Sterilite or Rubbermaid. I only gave it 4 stars because it should have velcro on all dividers, not just two. These special compartments allowed me to put my wedges or stilettos higher because I could see the dividers (enlarging the compartment to accommodate them). However, this meant that I could only store two pairs of these shoes at a time. Other compartments are great for flats, sandals, heels up to three inches, and moccasins. With large compartments I could even stash ankle boots if I wanted to.
