Funny story: On a dark, dark Seattle morning my husband backed out of the driveway on a time limit and BOOM CRACK is a mirror of the side passenger crashed into our fence. We bought these reflectors straight away to get a better view of the fence when reversing. Since then we haven't had a single accident! (Though I'm not averse to playing a few good-natured pranks on my husband.) Even if they're just reflected off our car's taillights (rather than the bright headlights in front of our car), they're still visibly bright enough for us safer and more confident to turn away. The adhesive on the back is tacky enough that we didn't have to screw it in at all, although there seem to be slots for that very thing if needed.
